Sanhua is looking to add a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to our Houston team. The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and the administration of employee benefits. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and company policies, addresses employee inquiries, and partners with internal teams to enhance payroll and benefits operations. The specialist plays a critical role in ensuring seamless, accurate payroll execution.

Payroll:
- Process payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate handling of new hires, terminations, transfers, exemptions, pay adjustments, and authorized deductions.
- Review and audit employee time submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness, reconciling payroll discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain and update payroll systems, including coding for deductions, garnishments, taxes, and other relevant payroll components, ensuring alignment with accounting needs.
- Respond to internal and external requests for payroll information, such as employment verifications, worker's compensation, and unemployment inquiries.
- Investigate and resolve employee payroll concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure payroll documentation and filing comply with company standards and relevant regulations.
Benefits:
- Administer health, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability (STD/LTD), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and voluntary benefit plans.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment processes, new hire enrollments, and qualified life event/benefit changes.
- Reconcile benefit provider invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment, and assist in resolving insurance claim issues.
- Administer the company’s 401(k) plan, including employee contributions, company match, compliance testing, and reporting.
- Manage all leave of absence requests, including personal, medical, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), worker’s compensation, STD, and LTD.
- Ensure timely and accurate COBRA administration for job changes and terminations.
- Address employee questions and concerns regarding benefits, providing clear and accurate information.
- Collaborate with insurance brokers and investment planners to design competitive, cost-effective benefits packages.
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- Proven customer service orientation with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and mail merge).
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times.
- Experience administering multi-state payroll and benefits.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
