Sanhua Automotive is looking for a Product Engineer to join our team in our Auburn Hills, MI office. The Product Engineer manages the successful development and implementation of the product from beginning to end. This person sees strategic ideas through from design and testing to  implementation and market introduction.


Responsibilities:

  • Product development in automotive thermal management system and components
  • Function as primary technical interface to OEM and tier customers to support new business acquisition through requirements analysis and conceptual design
  • Analysis of simulation & experimental results related to heat exchanger component design (heat transfer capacity and pressure drop).
  • Thermal performance optimization; Cost reduction and quality improvement
  • Conduct design of experiments, warranty fault analysis, and product validation tests
  • Reviewing part/assembly designs for manufacturability
  • Conducting failure mode analysis to ensure robust component/assembly design
  • Leading problem-solving activities, providing countermeasures to the team
  • Cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, sales, supply chain, and other engineering groups
  • Providing technical directions for team to make decisions
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional forums
  • Performs technical analysis of competitive products
  • Provides support to sales and marketing on product presentations and customer support.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in ME or EE or related field.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the automotive thermal management field.
  • Knowledge in the field of heat transfer and thermal system design
  • Familiar with product performance simulation analysis: thermal system analysis (EES), CFD (FLUENT, Star-CCM+)
  • Lean PD (8D, FMEA etc.)
  • Product design software (NX, CATIA, Teamcenter)
  • Six Sigma/ OPEX Blackbelt certification preferred; Lean Six Sigma usage (DOE, product map, process map, thought map etc.)
  • Technical Project Management
  • Strong mechanical engineering background with focus in heat transfer and fluid dynamic
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Mandarin language proficiency helpful
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
